I believe in acupuncture that honors both ancient wisdom and modern medical understanding. My path has taken me through diverse clinical settings—from academic hospital environments to teaching the next generation of practitioners—and each experience has deepened my commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
My Professional Journey
Currently, I serve as a clinical preceptor and staff acupuncturist at UCSD Health, treating patients in an integrative medicine setting, and mentoring medical students and internal medicine residents on their pain rotation. This role keeps me engaged with complex cases and the latest developments in East-West medicinal collaboration. I also hold a position as Clinical Supervisor at Pacific College of Health and Science, where I mentor doctoral students and stay connected to emerging research and techniques in the field.
My Private Practice Philosophy
My private practice operates independently, offering something different from my hospital and teaching work: time, attention, and continuity. With appointments available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and one Saturday a month, I'm able to give each patient the focused care they deserve.

A Note About This Practice
Upper Body Acupuncture is my independent private practice and is not affiliated with UCSD Health CIM or Pacific College of Health and Science. Here, I have the privilege of building long-term therapeutic relationships with patients in an unhurried, attentive environment.
I am proficient in a wide range of acupuncture techniques, including orthopedic and sports injury treatment, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese-style acupuncture (KMS), electroacupuncture, and various adjunctive therapies. My technique is gentle, pain-free, and effective.
